Lara was selected out of 600 young women as a finalist for Girlfriend Magazine's Girlfriend of the Year! You can vote for Lara by going HERE! All you have to do is write in 25 words - why you think Lara should be this year's Girlfriend of the Year! The deadline to enter is June 6 so send in your vote when you can! Lara's already begun her acting career, and has scored roles in Australian film and TV.
"When I was four, my mum took me to drama school, and I walked out saying, 'That's what I want to do'. I went to drama school for five years and then asked her if I could get an agent. I didn't really know what an agent was, I just thought I should get one coz I'd heard about them at school.
Since then, I've acted in movies and TV shows. I worked with Nicolas Cage in a film called "Knowing", and with Claudia Karvan in "Saved". Last year, I was in the TV series "Cloudstreet". I love acting because film is such an incredible way to tell stories to the whole world, and you can change people's minds and hearts. I want to use my craft to share stories from the world that need to be told.
My friends would describe me as determined - with my schoolwork, and with acting - and hardworking; I spend every second I can trying to fit in my schoolwork and my music practise. It's very tiring, but it's all worth it in the end. And original - I never want to be a copy of anyone; I just want to be me.
When I'm older, I hope to raise money for research on pancreatic cancer; my dad died of it when I was six. Every time I think about him, I smile. He was an environmental scientist and the chairman of the Environmental Protection Agency. He achieved so much, and I hope I can live up to his standards."

Huge congratulations are in order for Lara! On January 31st, Lara attended the 2012 AACTA Awards ceremony and WON the award for Best Young Actor! Congratulations Lara! I couldn't be any more proud of you. Take a look below and in the gallery for new pictures of Lara at the AACTA Awards. She looks so beautiful and sooo grown up! I love her gold dress with her little necklace and her hair and makeup is lovely. We also have a clip of Lara speaking to the press after receiving her award. She sounds so comfortable and at ease. She's a very lovely young lady and we will certainly see much more from her.
Speaking of more - Lara has booked (and is filming) another new role. She is currently working on the Aus tv show "Winners & Losers". She will be a recurring character in season 2 playing Tilly Young. That's all that I know about her character right now but when I know more, I'll let you all know.

As promised, we have a brand new layout! How do you all like it? It was made by Natalie once again. I had help from Linny with a few coding problems and I thank her so much! There isn't anything new on Lara today but I have a few site related updates for you all! First of all, just last month, Aussie Star celebrated 2 years being online! Can you believe that?
I've updated a few of the pages on the site celebrating the new year. Lara's biography and filmography have both been updated. I completely re-organized the icon section and you can find it here. The signature page was re-organzied as well. And lastly, I finally got around to adding a "costar" page. I want to say thank you to Juli for the inspiration for the page.

Lara has been nominated for two AACTA awards for her role earlier this year in "Cloudstreet"! Congratulations Lara!* AACTA Award Best Young Actor
* AACTA Award for Best Guest or Supporting Actress in a Television Drama
The awards presentation will be January 31, 2012. Fingers crossed that Lara attends and we have new images!

It looks like our girl has not only booked another role, but is already filming on set right now! Not much is know about the project yet but here's what I do know. It's a TV series based on books and it's a crime, drama, mystery genre. Lara will play the daughter to the main character - who in-coincidentally played her mum in "Cloudstreet" as well! That's right, Essie Davis. Lara will play Ruth Fisher. The tv series is set in the late 1920's of Melbourne. It will be released sometime in 2012. For more, visit the IMDb page. This is just a small update today but I couldn't resist. I'm finally getting around to the behind the scenes and deleted scenes clips from the official site. So today I made a clip of our girl being interviewed in one of the bts clips. I've added it to the youtube channel and I'll add it to the video archive as soon as I can. But take a look below!
